Describing myself as a knitter is a perhaps a bit of a lofty claim! I haven’t actually finished a wearable garment for myself (a jumper or cardigan), though I have knitted Natasha a couple of jumpers, and most of the small children in my life have something knitted by me, but embarking on a whole knitted jumper for myself seems like a bit of a daunting task which is one of the reasons I added this to my 50 things to do before I’m 50 bucket list! But that doesn’t stop a girl from dreaming, does it! So here are 3 jumpers I would love to knit for myself for Christmas jumper day!

The North Shore by tincanknits
I have actually made a version of The North Shore by tincanknitsfor one of the small people in the family, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable thing to make, so I would love to make myself a version. In the right colours, I think it would make a beautiful Christmas jumper without being too in your face. The pattern was a pleasure to work on, really easy for my tiny mind to follow, so I feel fairly confident that I could actually complete this one for myself!
Vinterskov by Karie Westermann
Vinterskov by Karie Westermannis another jumper you could make as subtle or as in your face as you fancy! (I clearly have a thing for fir trees!). I love the colours chosen by the designer, but this could easily be jazzed up and festivised!
Super Cosy Cardi by Rico Designs
The Super Cosy Cardi by Rico Designs is the ultimate in Christmas cosiness. This is a chunky knit, so should knit up fairly quickly. I love the relaxed comfiness of this one – perfect for curling up in front of a roaring fire with a mug of hot chocolate and good book while the snow falls gently outside!
Who knows, maybe by next Christmas I will have one of these fab knits ready to wear for the festive season!
