Blogmas day 4: A bookish gift guide
If you have a bookish loved one, it can be tricky to buy them a book for Christmas. While most bookish people will appreciated the effort that has gone in to finding just the right book for their gift, it can be disappointing for both the giver and the receiver if it turns out to be a book they have already read or has been sitting on their shelf waiting for the right moment to be picked up!
Fear not! Here we have a little roundup of fabulous bookish gift ideas that I would love to receive, and I’m sure most book lovers would agree!
A beautiful bookmark
Us bookish folk can never have too many bookmarks (though sometimes we’re guilty of using the strangest things to keep our place … or even *shock horror* folding over the corner of the page!) I particularly like this one from Nika Charms and Gifts on Etsy, a steal at only £4.99:
There are many, many book inspired scented candles out there, and these are sure to be adored by the book lover in your life!
This one by PretAGeek on Etsy sounds particularly gorgeous, and a bargain at £9.90!
A cosy sweater
Who doesn’t love to snuggle up in a cosy sweatshirt with a good book?! I love this one from WaryaTshirts on Etsy (£20.17)
A book journal
In this world of all things digital, I can pretty much guarantee that your bookish best mate loves to make lists and record thoughts about the books they’ve read in a journal. This one from Not On The High Street is customisable and currently on sale at £19.19!
A Book Subscription
And if you’re going all out, how about a book subscription from Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights? Mr B will appoint a dedicated bibliotherapist to your book lover to ensure a carefully created subscription that they will undoubtedly love, and you’ll be in the good books for months to come! You can buy a subscription for 3, 6 or 11 months with prices starting at £45. I’ve been lucky enough to visit this shop in Bath and it is just the best bookshop ever!
There are so many lovely gifts suitable for the book lover, but most of us are quite easily please and will appreciate any gift you have put a little care and thought into 🙂
