Quietly working away ...

A couple of weeks ago I signed up to Christy Sobolewski's eclectic altered journal class! She's teaching us how to turn junk mail into gorgeous journals! Well, her's are gorgeous ... I've made one and it is kind of an homage to wonkiness (embrace it, people!! ;)). Here's some pics of what I've done so far ...
Now I need to decide whether to make it a themed journal or just a go-with-the-flow journal ... At first I wanted it to be themed, but now I'm thinking it's too thick and I won't ever complete a whole journal this size on one theme, so it will probably be the latter. I have some thinner/smaller ones lined up to prep, so maybe one of those will be themed ...

Fun fun fun!

So today hubby and boy were at a football tournament and daughter was amusing herself watching pre-olympics programmes on TV, so I had a play in my art journal(s)!

I went back to Scrapping the Music and had a look through their prompts and was hugely inspired, as always! I made this page for their Golden Years prompt ... the song comes from the movie A Knight's Tale, one of my all time favourite movies ever in the entire universe, and the clip that this song relates to is the absolute best bit of the entire movie. So funny :) Check out this clip if you haven't seen the movie!

And here's my page inspired by the song - it has nothing to do with the movie at all :)  Excuse the photo! I left it too late and now it's dark :(

Here's a closer look at the little cutie!

Another of the prompts over there was Just Breathe by Pearl Jam. Now if you know me, you will know that I have a slight obsession with Eddie Vedder, so I just had to do this page right away! Again, the actual page has nothing to do with the delicious Eddie ...

AND I made a video of the process! You can see it here:

Mega catch up!

I've been working hard to catch up on my Art Journal Caravan ... I'd kind of stuck way back at week 6 or 7 ... but I'm now up to date to week 19! Hurrah! I won't bore you all by posting all the pages at once, but here's the first few:

Week 7, with a face!

Week 8, with some inked up paper towel:

Week 9, with a napkin:

Week 10, a quick magazine image collage:

Week 11, a little bit of journalling added to the face I showed you in the last post:

Arty journalling!

So I've been getting my fingers inky and painty again ... a few pages to show you ... my latest fad is faces (again) ... still getting the hang of them, as you can see!

This one might need some plastic surgery on her nose and mouth ...

This one isn't quite finished ... she needs some journalling ... and maybe some corrective eye surgery!

I'm finding it really tricky to get the faces all looking different, but I guess that will come with practice!

Catching up ...

with lots of things this weekend.  Well, that's the plan, anyway!

I'm starting with my very own 365+1 challenge.  The challenge is to take a photo a day for the year based on the word prompts I post, and sadly I have fallen behind :(  I have posted the word for my merry band of happy snappers, but haven't always taken the photo!  That will be remedied this weekend (I'm trying to fit photos taken around the right date, though sometimes they don't quite fit date wise, but never mind!).

When I saw Amy Tangerine's post with her collage of photos for the year so far, I had to have a go with my own!  LOOK!! How amazing do they look?!  I'll show you March and April when they're done too ...
