Pleased with myself!

I'm up to date with Book of Days and Art Journal Caravan, AND the 365+1 challenge which is going superbly :)  Long may it last!

Here's the latest couple of pages in my Book of Days:

Apologies for the hideous photos - the light has gone, but I wanted to post them otherwise I'll probably never get round to it!

I'm also going to try again with A Year in the Life of an Art Journal.  Love the prompts they give here!  Here's my first page:

Friday Fill-Ins!

I just came across this as I was bloghopping and thought it would be fun to do! Play along here :)

1. When I looked out the window this morning I saw sunshine and blue sky!
2. Politics doesn't make sense to me.
3. Remind me to choose our pre-booked seats on the plane.
4. Bloghopping is something I love to do!
5. TP is ... ummm .... toilet paper?
6. I cleaned the refrigerator recently and I found a plateful of cooked ham from Boxing Day! *blush*
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching Law and Order: UK, tomorrow my plans include a lie-in and Sunday, I want to cook roast beef and play with paints!

More from the Book of Days

I've managed to finish two more spreads in my Book of Days ... only 10 days behind now! lol :)

This is a 'looking forward to 2012' page:

And this is a page about the 1st of January ... which happened to be my 40th birthday *sob*:

Apologies for the crappy photos ... tis a dim day here in deepest darkest Essex!

Karen asked me how big this book is ... it is about 7.5 inches wide and 10.5 inches tall, so fairly big by my standards ... slightly bigger than A5 which is my usual journaling size.

Having a Wild time!

I discovered Effy Wild.  I have no idea how this woman has escaped my notice up til now.

Effy is running a year long journalling class called Book of Days - it is free, but more importantly it is TOTALLY AMAZING.

I'm a little bit behind with this project because the heating workmen interrupted the flow of my creative juices, but actually I should thank them - not only for a nice warm house (yay!) but because they made me clear out a whole bunch of cupboards.  And in the process of clearing out the cupboards, I found a book I thought I had lost.  A great big badass book for Fairy Stories that my parents gave me for Christmas when I was about 7.  I treasured this book when I was younger, leafing through the pages, devouring the words and pictures.  I thought I had lost the book forever in the moves I've made across seas and continents and from house to house, and I was so excited to find it in one of these cupboards!  I knew straight away that I would use it for this project ... although I did have a bit of a wobble when it came to actually tearing out some of the pages.  I know some people will wonder how I could do such a thing to a treasured book, but by doing Book of Days I will transform this treasured book into something even more precious - it will hold the memories from when I was 7 as well as holding a documentation of the year I turned 40.

So here is what I've done so far:

The front and back cover - I might add to this ...:

The front cover:

The inside cover spread:

I'm so loving this project.  If you haven't checked out Effy's work before, get over there RIGHT NOW!!!

Going on a Caravan

For the past two years I've joined in with Tangie Baxter's Art Journal Caravan on Scrapbookgraphics.  Although I've never actually completed a whole year's worth of journal, I've signed up to do it again!  Tangie's weekly itinerary's are so packed with inspiration I couldn't pass it up!

So here's my first entry in my journal ... this all about choosing a word and personal symbol for the year ...

I have a feeling this year's AJC is going to get pretty up close and personal ... something I always find a challenge, but actually also something that will probably do me a lot of good!

Happy 2012!

We had a quiet night in last night, played Singstar and Guitar Hero and watched Jools Holland's Hootenanny - I fell in love with The Vaccines and Dave fell in love with Imelda May!

So, a new year brings lots of good intentions ... there are so many projects I want to do this year, as usual.  I know I won't keep them all up!

I am committed to 365+1 - my photo a day with a word prompt every day challenge! It's never too late to join in if you haven't already done so!

I'm also running Snap:2012 on UKScrappers ... details to be revealed over there very soon.

And this year I'm going to attempt Kate Crane's calendar challenge ... again!  I think I've started it for the past two years but never got beyond January!  Third time lucky? I hope so!  Here's my January page, waiting to be filled in ...

There are other projects I'd like to complete as well ... so much to do!  Hopefully lots more creativeness to follow! Happy new year to you all!
